App Store unable to download application

After jailbreaking my iPad, I wasn't able to install any updates of the free or legally purchased apps in the App Store. Every time I would try to download the updates, it would start downloading and toward the end of the installing part would get the following error:
Unable to Download Application
"(app name) for iPhone and iPad" could not be installed at this time
Notice this only happened when downloading updates. I was able to download any full app.
Temporary workaround: delete the app unable to download and re-download the app fully
Permanent fix found: go to Settings. Click the Store icon. Click on your user name and log out. Log back in. BINGO, it's fixed!!!! Go try the updates and they work again!
